She was born in the Bronx to Constance (Casale) and Anthony Valentine and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister. She was a devoted parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and an active member of the Dumont Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by her children, Joanne Conboy and her husband Sean, Nicholas Gitto and his wife Carol, Jeanice Gitto and Vivian Conboy and her husband Brian; grandchildren, Kyle and his wife Wanda, Christina and her husband Matt, Gina, Nicholas, John Paul, Thomas, Robert, Richard, Valentina, Casey; her six great-grandchildren; and her sister, Rita Cioffi.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul; and a son, Vincent.
Visiting is 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 2 at Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont. Mass is Tuesday, Jan. 3, 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Haworth. Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories, Washington Township.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan’s memory to the Dumont Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
